Responsible Tourism

GB Charity Events takes its responsibilities within the tourism industry very seriously, it is our ethos that all of our trips should have minimal negative impact and maximum positive impact.

For this reason, to maximise the positive impact that our adventures provide, we:

As an organisation we are also members of various professional bodies, which allow us to look after the three main areas of our adventures - our participants, our staff & partners and the environment.

We protect you the participant by:

Being ATOL protected, we protect you the participant via the CAA. So should anything happen to the company or any one of our flight partners, you will be looked after.

We protect our partners and the environment by:

Being corporate members of the Institute of Fundraising to see that all of our adventures adhere to the guidelines set out by the institute, this ensures that we follow the industry and best practice.

We are also members and supporters of tourism concern, who work to ensure that tourism is as sustainable as possible and tackle the various issues that tourism can create around the world. We are also a part of the ethical tourism group, which looks at ways to further extend best practice and help local communities.

All of our ground handling staff and porters are well cared for and we run private programs to ensure that they are properly equipped and looked after. We have an internal auditing policy that assesses each of our ground handlers annually to ensure that we can maintain our high standards.

We protect the Environment by:

Carbon offsetting all of our adventures through Climate Care. Naturally as a tour operator we are unable to eliminate all carbon emitting activities, but we use very in depth carbon calculators ensure that we get an accurate figure for the carbon output of our activities and this is what we offset.
