Charity

Participants

Thank you for your interest in taking part in one of our events. Through taking part in one of our events you can choose to raise funds for a UK or Irish registered charity that is close to your heart, as long as you have their permission.

Take a look at the list of charities that we currently work with. If your preferred charity is not on the list then you can provide us with their contact details and we can introduce them to GB Charity Events and how we work so that you can then fundraise for their cause by taking part in one of our challenges.

GB Challenge Events

We have several different event itineraries on offer to charities and their supporters which give fantastic experiences as they take in the sights and challenges that are available to them within the UK.

Whether your charity have a group of supporters aiming to climb the 3 Peaks Challenge or a corporate team supporting you through a Coast to Coast Cycle we are confident that we can organise an event that gives them an unforgettable experience and that charity a perfect opportunity to fundraise for their good work.

Please contact us if you would like further information on any of our exciting events.

Open Challenges

Open Challenges are a great way of getting your supporters to raise money for your charity without having to commit to recruiting a minimum number of participants. We run several of these challenges throughout the year for charities who would prefer to use this lower risk option.

It may be that your charity is too small to be able to send a full group of supporters on one of our challenges. Rather than committing to a minimum number of supporters the Open Challenges is the perfect solution. You have the options where you can team up with another charity to make a full challenge group or even send as few as 1 or 2 supporters from your charity to join individuals who are supporting other charities to participate in a challenge.

See our forthcoming Open Challenges. (link to open challenges) If you are interested in promoting one or some of our challenges to your supporters then please contact us at info@gbcharityevents.co.uk and we will be happy to provide you with further details.

Fundraising Options

Self-funding:
The self-funding option sees participants cover the total event cost themselves and in addition to this raise as much sponsorship as possible for the charity of their choice. The total event costs include the deposit, which is given upon signing up to a challenge, securing a participants place on the challenge. The final outstanding balance is due ten weeks prior to departure. All monies are payable to GB Charity Events.
Minimum Sponsorship:
The minimum sponsorship option for participants is where they will pay the event deposit to GB Charity Events and then pledge to raise the minimum sponsorship target for the charity of their choice.
Once agreed with the charity, all fundraising from the participant is sent directly to the charity as and when it is received. At least 80% of the minimum sponsorship is usually required by the charity 10 weeks prior to the event date, with the remaining 20% being sent to the charity within 4 weeks of completing the challenge.
If the participants have raised the required sponsorship, the charity will pay the remaining balance of the participant’s place on the challenge 10 weeks prior to the event and then benefit from all the sponsorship raised above and beyond the event cost.

Bespoke Challenges

We specialise in adventure travels and providing adrenalin-inducing challenges. All of our trips are put together by a team of experts which means we can push back the boundaries and there are no limits to our imagination!

Whether you want your group to have a multi-activity adventure race in the Alps or horse-riding in the Pyrenees or a unique experience closer to home in the UK then we will be happy to arrange it for you. A bespoke challenge can be arranged for your charity for as few as fifteen or more than twenty people, so contact us to talk about your ideas and let us take care of the rest for you.

Why Use GB Charity Events?

Our Challenges

It is simple to say that none of our events are standard or ‘off-the-shelf’, every event that we undertake for a client is unique and this is reflected in the way that each event is personalised to yours and your supporters’ needs.

Every one of our challenges has the best quality built-in without compromise and this is reflected in the way that we always make use of the best equipment and the most experienced guides. It is our attention to detail to ensure every aspect of our events makes the experience for your participants memorable and unforgettable, it’s also why we see our clients return year after year.

Our Prices

As well as providing a quality and unforgettable experience through our events at the forefront of our thoughts is the cost of our events and importantly how you as a charity can use our challenges as a suitable fundraising event with a good ROI.

One of the key factors in GB Charity Events setting up is that we passionately believe that we can provide challenge events at a fairer price than any other supplier in the market-place.

One of our ambitions is to change the charity challenge events market and see how our services change the way our competitors work with you so that charities get a better deal.

We are completely transparent in the way we cost our events, which means you and your supporters can be completely confident that you know what is and isn’t included in your event solution and that there will be no hidden extra costs.

We actively encourage you to shop around and look at other suppliers on what they offer – we’re confident that you will very quickly find out the quality we build into our events at the price we offer can’t be matched. If you do get a good deal then we will endeavour to better this quote for you.

Our Team

We are a small team with a breadth of cross-team experience, which means we are ideally placed to take your initial brief to deliver an action-packed adventure and return your supporters home safely.

GB Charity Events is a unique organisation, not only are we experts in providing adventure events and expeditions with senior instructors who have been as far afield as the Andes and the Himalayas, we have a staff member who has worked as an Events Manager at national charities for over 3 years.

This means that we intimately understand your needs from a charity’s perspective and makes us much more than just an events company – our services and support are orientated around making sure your supporters experience incredible donor care and an unforgettable experience to enable them to maximise their fundraising and return year after year in support of you.

Our Challenge Leaders

When you are on an event you will find that we have group leaders who have years of specific experience to your challenge and are qualified to lead groups. Importantly our guides are locally based wherever we are in the UK, which gives us local knowledge that you just can’t buy.

Furthermore our guides are all first aid trained, carry comprehensive group and communication equipment (sat phones and VHF radios) to ensure everyone’s safety. Our guides clearly understand the IOF Outdoor Events Code of Practice and make sure we adhere to this and our policies on safety and responsible tourism.

Our guides are also our greatest asset, with their years of experience, sense of humour and encouragement they give to your supporters we find through feedback from participants it’s their guides that have really made their challenge experience unforgettable!

Our Ethos

You can read more on our ethos here on how we operate and what we believe in. We see the great outdoors as an adventure that everyone should experience. We hope to see you and your supporters join us on our next adventure.
