The 3 Peaks Challenge is the classic hill walking challenge where climbers attempt to summit on Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours! The Three Peaks will take you to some of the most stunning areas of the UK and whilst it will be tough going as you aim to get to the top you will be rewarded with stunning views that will take your breath away. The 3 Peaks will see you visit the gorgeous glens and mountains of the highlands, the beautiful Lake District and the rugged mountains of North Wales. The Three Peaks starts in Ben Nevis where from sea level you will climb to the highest mountain in the UK - there’s even a good chance you'll have to cross a band of snow near the top to hit the summit. It’s a long way to go, but if you are lucky and have a clear day you’ll not want to come back down in a hurry! However you must and you will before you make your way to the Lake District to tackle Scafell Pike. To keep the challenge interesting you will climb Scafell Pike from Seathwaite and take a slightly longer path, but much more interesting route up the mountain than the classic Wasdale path offers. The final mountain is Snowdon and it’s a challenging and interesting route to the top, but you'll be pleased to hear shorter than the other two mountains. Time it right and you will be hitting the summit just as sunset is upon you. With the ember of the day and the glow of completing the challenge you will skip back to Pen-y-Pas with a palpable sense of achievement after completing the 3 Peaks Challenge. After the challenge its back to Betws-y-Coed for a well deserved celebration meal and a few drinks as you regale in the stories of the last whirlwind of a day.
