Through taking part in one of our events you can choose to raise funds for a UK or Irish registered charity that is close to your heart, as long as you have their permission. Take a look at the list of charities that we currently work with. If your preferred charity is not on the list then you can provide us with their contact details and we can introduce them to GB Charity Events and how we work so that you can then fundraise for their cause by taking part in one of our challenges. Payment OptionsWhen you take part in one of GB Charity Events there are two options of how you can choose to pay for the event. See below for the difference between Self-funding and minimum sponsorship. Self-funding:
Minimum Sponsorship:
Once this is agreed with the charity, all your fundraising is sent directly to the charity as and when you receive it. At least 80% of the minimum sponsorship is usually required by the charity 10 weeks prior to the event date, with the remaining 20% being sent to the charity within 4 weeks of completing the challenge. If you have raised the required sponsorship, the charity will pay the remaining balance of your place on the challenge and then benefit from all the sponsorship raised above and beyond the event cost. Why Choose GB Charity Events? Our ChallengesIt is simple to say that none of our events are standard or ‘off-the-shelf’, every event we undertake is unique and this is reflected in the way that each event is personalised to your needs. Every one of our challenges has the best quality built-in without compromise and this is reflected in the way that we always make use of the best equipment and the most experienced guides. It is our attention to detail to ensure every aspect of our events makes the experience for you memorable and unforgettable; it’s also why when you have been on one of our events that you will keep coming back for more! Our PricesAs well as providing a quality and unforgettable experience through our events at the forefront of our thoughts is the cost of our events and importantly how we can meet your budget. We are completely transparent in the way we cost our events, which means you can be completely confident that you know what is and isn’t included in your challenge and that there will be no hidden extra costs. Our adventures are typically fully inclusive covering transportation, event logistics and fully catered. The only thing we don’t include is spending money for the souvenirs! Our TeamWe are a small team with a breadth of experience to give you the personal touch. It also means we have the knowledge to take the stress away from planning and give you all the information and advice needed to be ready for the challenge. From kit lists to travel details we have everything covered – all you have to do is put in the training, get excited at the prospect and turn up for the challenge! Our Challenge LeadersWhen you are on an event you will find that we have group leaders who have years of specific experience to your challenge and are qualified to lead groups. Importantly our guides are locally based wherever we are in the UK, which gives us local knowledge that you just can’t buy. Furthermore our guides are all first aid trained, carry comprehensive group and communication equipment (sat phones and VHF radios) to ensure everyone’s safety. Our guides clearly understand the IOF Outdoor Events Code of Practice and make sure we adhere to this and our policies on safety and responsible tourism. Our guides are also our greatest asset, with their years of experience, sense of humour and encouragement they give to you we know that it is your guides that will really make your challenge experience unforgettable! Our EthosYou can read more on our ethos here on how we operate and what we believe in. We see the great outdoors as an adventure that everyone should experience. We hope to see you join us on our next adventure. “It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves – in finding themselves.” |
